Vision: Prepare students to be Job Creators rather than Job Seekers[1]

~2 lakh students from 11th class to benefit every year across all ~2000 Govt Schools

Session 2024-25[2]:

52K students shortlisted for their business idea, given Rs 10.41 crore as seed money

2023-24: Implemented across all schools by Punjab Govt
2022-23: Piloted succesfully with limited schools

40 skill training schools have been set up to prepare for business blasters[3]

Herbal Organic Compost crafted over two months is one such project as shown in pic below

Program Structure

Business Blasters is Experiential learning to cultivate Entrepreneurial habits and attitudes

  • Every year ₹2000 seed money per student is given to pursue business ideas
  • Applicable to ~2 lakh students in class 11 of all Govt schools[4]
  • With school-level support, teams pursue their business ideas to generate revenues and make profit
  • Teams making decent progress will be provided business coaching to further develop and scale their business ideas

BB 2024-25[2:1]

1.38 lakh government school students registered for Business Blaster Program

  • All 1920 government senior secondary schools participated
  • 7,813 teachers are supporting students in their endeavours

BB 2023-24[5]

During PTM on 16 Dec 2023, many schools showcased their students'entrepreneurial flair through the ‘Business Blaster Project’

  • 183,192 Class 11 students participated
  • Total of 138,676 students formed 19,989 teams to develop business ideas
  • 52,050 students were selected to receive seed funding
  • Government Girls Senior Secondary School(Sohana) setup stalls which showcased diverse entrepreneurial ventures

Pilot Project 2022-23

  • Punjab Govt pilot project in 32 government senior secondary schools of 9 districts of state[6]
    • Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Rupnagar, and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar[7]
  • 11,041 students of 11th class participated and 3,032 of them received the seed money[6:1]
  • Rs 60+ lakh was given as seed money
  • Many innovative projects like Torch which runs on solar energy, a USB charger and an alarm system etc were developed by students[8]

Teacher Training

5,000+ lecturer-grade teachers trained for ‘Business Blasters’ programme in 2024[9]

Aug 2023: Online orientation session was organized for teachers of all Government Senior Secondary Schools (GSSS) across Punjab[4:1]

Sept 2023[6:2]:

  • Punjab School Education Department conducted a comprehensive two-day teachers’ training program
  • Approximately 7,000 teachers from 2,000 schools across 23 districts of the state participated
  • Training segments included orientation, curriculum exposure, role-play, and clarifying roles and responsibilities
  • Special sessions focused on motivation, teamwork, and real-world situations
