1. New tech solutions to check GST tax evasion[11]

  • Integrated advanced data analytic tools, and implemented adjudication and scrutiny modules
  • Digital Tech is driving better enforcement, increasing the tax base, and plugging leakages

Collaborated with IIT Hyderabad[11:2]

  • 15 modules adopted under an agreement with IIT, Hyderabad as of May 2025[2:4]
  • 7 more such modules would be activated soon[2:5]

  • Addition of 46,338 new taxpayers in 2023-24

4. Chandigarh/Other states shopping IGST to Punjab[14][15]

Punjab can now expect a jump in its GST collection

  • Punjab has its way, will collect IGST if state resident shops in Chandigarh or any other state
  • GST Council agreeing to allow Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) collection by way of destination-based consumption tax
  • 01 Dec 2023: GST amendment Bill is also passed related to this change[16]
