MCD Budget 2024 proposes ₹1,000 crore revamp of inner colony roads in Delhi + 10 year Maintenance
Roads in the three erstwhile MCDs plagued by financial crises under BJP's rule
Repairing roads one of the 10 election guarantees by AAP
- Delhi has 12,7000km of internal colony road network
- Roads to be developed under hybrid annuity model, i.e., PPP-like arrangement between the developer and the government, with payment released conditionally based on target completion
- The developer will also be responsible for the upkeep of the road for 10 years
MCD in the process of piloting road expansion in three unauthorised colonies
- Road network plan for Khirki Extension, Saroop Nagar Extension, East Azad Nagar will be the first step in regularising Delhi's 1800 unauthorised colonies
- Pilot project being done in coordination with DDA
