Max Time limit fixed[1]: Govt mandates 45 days time limit for dispute free mutations
-- Pendance in any tehsil or sub-tehsil beyond time will invite action
Why Mutation is Important?[2]
Govt funds/compensation is released in account of Person in revenue records (as per mutation), not as per registry
Special camps to clear backlog
Month long special campaign to clear all dispute-free mutations by 31 December 2024
-- Earlier Special camps in all Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils to resolve the pending cases of mutation[3]
Example:
If an agricultural land is acquired by Government
-- The registration of such land is in person name X
-- The mutation process is in favour of Person Y
-- The government will release the acquisition funds in favour of Person Y, not X; as in the revenue records he is recorded as the owner of the land
Mutation refers to the process of updating the land or property records to reflect a change in ownership or other relevant details. It is a local administrative process carried out by the revenue or municipal authorities
Registering a property transaction provides legal validity to the agreement or deed. It helps establish proof of ownership and prevents fraudulent transactions
