Farishtey Scheme: Offers free treatment to all road accident victims within Punjab Borders, without discrimination based on nationality, caste, or socio-economic status
Total 494 hospitals have registered under the Farishtey Scheme
-- 180 Public Hospitals
-- 314 Private Hospitals
223 accident victims receive free treatment till Dec 2024
-- 66 "Farishtas" (good Samaritans) have been recognised & awarded
- Golden hour is the 1st crucial hour after a road accident
- During this time if a seriously injured person is given critical care, their chances of survival increase highly
- Free treatment at nearby hospitals including private hospitals offered by Punjab Government
Hospital Compensation
- Empanelled hospitals will be compensated according to the HBP 2.2 package rates defined by the National Health Authority
- Punjab has identified 52 packages to cover the treatment of roadside victims

Sukhchain Singh, who works with HDFC bank in Zira, said after he took a victim to a private hospital in Ferozepur district he got a call informing him that he will get Rs 2000 and “a certificate of appreciation”
- Anyone taking the road accident victim to the hospital would be honoured and rewarded with Rs 2000
- There will be NO questioning by police or hospital authorities from the person
- Scheme aligns with the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court issued in various cases, urging the public to bring accident victims to the nearest government or empanelled private hospitals
