First time in the history of Punjab Police that Rs 150 crore have been spent on the purchase of vehicles in a single financial year[3:1]

1,195 vehicles that have completed 15 years of life are being scraped

New vehicles are being purchased in place of these condemned vehicles
- First phase: 508 vehicles are being purchased at a cost of Rs 94.15 crore
- Second phase: 851 vehicles will be purchased in FY 2024-25 at a cost of Rs 75.42 crore

Rs 426 crore are being spent to modernise and strengthen the Punjab Police infrastructure

2 new police stations notified — Kartarpur Corridor and IT City Mohali
- A tender has been floated for the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor police station
¶ Details
- To provide efficient, responsive and effective Policing the state government is upgrading the Punjab Police on modern lines
- ERVs equipped with Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) and Global Positioning System (GPS), will be the first responders to a crime scene and will be deployed under police stations in all 28 police districts in the state[2:1]
- Live location of these Emergency Response Vehicles will be available at Dial 112 Control Room (PSAP) and District Coordinator Centre[2:2]
¶ Infra Upgrade[3:2]
- Rs 40 crore to Punjab Police to strengthen the security of the border areas
- Rs 10 crore has been given for the renovation of police stations
- Rs 10 crore for the purchase of modern vehicles
- Rs 80 crore sanctioned for strengthening the structure of police counter-intelligence
- Rs 30 crore for the cybercrime structure
