Update (July 2026): ₹1,83,837 crore in 9,899 investment proposals from 16 March 2022 to 31 July 2026, expected to create 6.16 lakh jobs[4]

Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit 2026

3-day summit at Mohali, 13-15 March 2026: investment commitments of ₹10,000+ crore on Day 1 alone; 30 sessions with global & national investors (Japan, UK etc.)[5][6]

Industrial & Business Development Policy 2026 ('Punjab Udyog Kranti')

  • Approved by Cabinet on 7 March 2026 with sector-specific policies, incentives & operational guidelines[7]
  • Special focus on MSMEs; new sectors like film studios, hospitals & hotels included; Industrial Park Policy for 25+ acre parks[8]

FY2023-24: Punjab had 27% growth(Highest in North region) in company registration

  1. Tata Steel building its 2nd Biggest plant
    • Inaugurated 20 March 2026 in Ludhiana; first rebars dispatched; ₹3,200 crore more investment in pipeline[12]
  2. De Heus, an animal feed company from Netherlands, made its first investment
  3. Others like Jindal Steel, Virgio, Tafe, Hindustan Unilever
