Senior Citizens well being is Top Priority of Punjab AAP Government
¶ Saade Buzurg Saada Maan campaign[1]
Launched on 3 October 2023, covered every district
Hoshiarpur: 690 senior citizens were given Free Eye Glasses along with other services on 17 Nov 2023[2]
Health Checkup & Eye Surgeries
Free Distribution of eye glasses & Eye surgeries were done
- Comprehensive geriatric care for age-related diseases
- ENT (Ear Nose Throat) check-ups, eye examinations
- Essential medications for senior citizens
Govt Pension & Cards
- Issuance of Senior citizen cards
- Provide Assistance in filling out old age pension forms
¶ Old Age Homes
Goal: Old Age Home to be established in all districts of Punjab
Plan
- Planned to open New old age homes in 10 districts[3]
- Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurtthala, Patiala, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Nawannshahr, Mohali and Malerkotla districts[3:1]

- 2 new old age homes at Mansa and Barnala
- Mansa: Area 29353 sq. yards - 60% work completed (Aug 2023)
- Barnala: Area 31827 sq. yards - 82% work completed(Aug 2023)
Existing[5]
- Only 1 is existing, established in 1961
- This is located in Ram Colony Camp Hoshiarpur
¶ Old Age Pension
- Old age pension is given at Rs 1500 per month[6]
- 22 Lakh beneficieries [7]
- Door step delivery of the pension [8]
¶ Elderline - Helpline no 14567[9]
- Provides information, guidance, emotional support, and field intervention
- Driven by values of Consistency, Care, Empathy and Encouragement
