Security Guards: Will instill sense of security & discipline for students and allow teachers to focus on teaching
Night Watchmen: Will keep a check on regular incidents of theft of computers, rations and gas cylinders from government schools
1,265 security guards through PESCO for 689 high and senior secondary schools
- Deployed at the entry and exit of the schools
- They will ensure that no student can leave the premises during school time without the permission of the principal
- Maintaining records of visitors
- Security guards would also manage traffic outside the school to facilitate students during entry and exit at schools
1,734 chowkidar-cum-watchman for night duty were recruited for government senior secondary schools
- School management committees would select the chowkidar/watchman
- These watchmen will be paid a monthly salary of Rs 5,000 each
- One should preferably be a local resident in the age group of 32 to 60
