55.5m high Shahpurkandi dam on river Ravi being implemented by Punjab will stop unutilised water flowing to Pakistan, bordering Jammu and Kashmir as well^[1]

Shahpurkandi Dam Project is completed at last and filling of water in the reservoir in final stages

Shahpurkandi Dam Project which was pending for execution for more than 25 years^[3]

• This project will stop any water going downstream to Pakistan
• Benefits:
  -- Irrigation potential of 5,000+ hectare in Punjab & over 32,000 hectares in J&K^[1:1]
  -- Will help in creating an additional power of 206MW for Punjab
• Toursim: The dam will create new tourism potential creating employment opportunities
