For 1st time, Punjab government schools started nursery classes from 2024-25; on par with private schools
Earlier parents had to enroll children for nursery in private schools
Impacting enrollment in government schools as parents would just continue in private schools itself
- The age limit to get admitted into nursery class is 3 years
- The duration of the class for the nursery students would be 1 hour only
- In compliance with the National Education Policy (NEP)
- A budgetery allocation of 10 crores made for the purpose by the Government of Punjab
- Ludhiana leading with the highest number of admissions in the state
