2. Expansion in Market

  • Verka Products have been famous in Punjab and neighbouring states but the supply chain was limited

DELHI[2:1]

TARGET: Verka supply to increase from current 30,000 litres to 2 lakh litres per day of Milk to Delhi

  • Initially 100 booths opened in Delhi
  • Punjab Government has signed an agreement with Delhi Government for opening Verka outlets in Delhi

PUNJAB[4]

Dec 2022: 625 booths were approved in 1st phase, Total planned is 1000 new booths in Punjab itself

3. New Plants and Infra Upgrades

Ludhiana[5]

  • Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has inaugurated a new facility at Verka Ludhiana Diary
    • featuring automatic Milk reception, processing and packaging capabilities for fresh milk and fermented Products
    • The verka ludhiana plant has a daily milk processing capacity of 9 lakh litres and can handle 10 metric tonnes of butter per day
    • It has been built at a cost of Rs 105 crores

Ferozpur[1:2]

  • New Liquid Milk processing and packaging unit with capacity of 1 lakh liter inaugurated on September 29, 2022

Jalandhar[5:1]

  • New automatic unit for processing and packaging of fermented products (curd and lassi) to be finished by Mid 2024
  • 1.25 LLPD capacity at the cost of Rs 84 crore
  • These plants help in complete coverage of cold chain in milk procurement at village level

3a. Dairy Laboratory

  • New State Central Dairy Laboratory coming up in Mohali at the cost of Rs 8 crore, including Rs 6.12 crore for equipment and Rs 1.87 crore for civil works[5:2]
