False cases being filed against AAP leaders; Campaign underway to end party - Delhi CM Kejriwal in Oct 2023[1]

  • In total, 4 cases have been registered against cabinet ministers Gopal Rai and Kailash Gahlot for charges involving rioting and defacement of public property. All 2 ministers have been discharged in all the cases
  • In October 2018, the Income Tax department raided the premises of Gahlot, but no case has been filed yet
  • In Nov 2023, ED raid was carried out at Delhi Minister Raaj Anand residence in conjunction with a 19-year-old case that had been lingering for many years at the Customs Tribunal[3]

Court slammed investigation agencies in important cases

  • CBI flouted procedures with impunity and was conspicuously ambiguous in its probe in a graft case against IAS officer Rajendra Kumar, principal secretary to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, and other officials [12]

A special CBI court sent a reference to the Delhi High Court to initiate contempt proceedings against the investigation officer of a corruption case [12:1]

  • Delhi court pulled ED up for ‘wrongly’ linking minister Jain with 3 companies in the money launderign case as he was neither the director nor associated with any of them [13]

This judge was changed

“He (Jain) was neither the director nor associated with them. How will the companies become Satyendar Jain’s just by naming him? Is this the first time that you are filing a prosecution complaint? Don’t you vet the document before giving it to the court…Should I conduct a fishing inquiry on the basis of these papers? Do you think IO can give anything he wants? Jain does not become the director just because you have written it,” the special judge Geetanjali Goel told additional solicitor general (ASG) SV Raju. [13:1]

  • Delhi alleged liquor scam case - The SC bench said most of the allegations in the corruption case registered by the CBI against Sisodia were "hearsay", based on the statements made by approvers [14]
