Scams alleged in Temple constructions have links with BJP
-- Ram Mandir Land Scam in Ayodhya
-- Ram Temple(Ayodhya) Donations Scam
-- Mahakal Lok Corridor scam - Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh)
-- Kedarnath Gold plating scam (Uttrakhand)

"The BJP has done severe damage to the spirit of Hinduism. It has trivialised and distorted the meaning of being a Hindu"[1]

1. Mahakal Lok Corridor scam - Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh)

"Even god is not spared by BJP when it comes to corruption in MP"[2]

  • 6 out of 7 idols of ‘Saptarishis’ installed at the Mahakal Lok corridor, have collapsed and suffered damages due to gusty winds[3]
  • These developed on the Mahakaleshwar temple premises in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain city
  • “How can a statue worth crores get destroyed just because of a little wind?” - alleged Congress[4]
  • The probe had hit a wall following 'non-cooperation' by some officers[5]
  • Officers submitted blurred copies of the bills slowing down the probe[5:1]

2. Ayodhya Ram Temple Land scam

"Crores of people gave donations to the Ram Temple Trust. They dug into their savings to donate. If this is what you do to their money, then this is an insult to the 120 crore people of the country,"

From Rs 2 crore to Rs 18.5 crore in minutes

16.5 Crore profit on the same day!!

  • The land was first purchased by Sultan Ansari on March 18 for a sum of Rs 2 crore[6][7]
  • VHP leader Champat Rai is the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, set up by the Narendra Modi government[6:1]
  • Champat Rai purchased the land for a price of Rs 18.50 crore on March 18[6:2][8]
  • Land measuring 1.208 hectares is located in Bag Bjaisi village under Sadar tehsil of Ayodhya district

Bought for 20 lakh, sold at 2.5 Crore[9]

2.3 Crore profit within 3 months!!

  • BJP leader(Mayor of Ayodhya)'s the nephew Narayan bought land 'gata number 135' from the mahant Devendra Prasadacharya for Rs 20 lakh on February 20,2021
  • Then sold the property to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust for Rs 2.5 crore on May 11,2021
  • The property, adjacent to the Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya, was valued at Rs 35.6 lakh by the local authorities

3. Ayodhya Ram Temple Donations Scam

Nirmohi Akhara, main litigant in the Ayodhya case, accused BJP & VHP of swindling Rs 1400 crore

  • Nirmohi Akhara, which was the main litigant in the Ayodhya title suits and is one of 3 claimants to the disputed site in Ayodhya[10]
  • VHP and BJP leaders has swindled more than Rs 1400 crore contributed by the devotees
  • Also the bricks which were amassed for the construction of the proposed temple at the disputed site[10:1]
  • Nirmohi Akhara won't be influenced by money said Sitaram, a spokesperson of Nirmohi Akhara. We have proof of the scam[10:2]

4. Ayodhya Ram Temple: Can an unfinished temple be consecrated?

The consecration ceremony is definitely a political event - Maithili Sharan Das, the head priest of the 118-year-old Shri Ram Janaki temple

  • The trust is working for a political party, then it is an arm of that party

5. Kedarnath Gold plating scam[12][13]

Alleged 125cr scam where brass was used instead of gold plating on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum

  • Teerth Purohit of Kedarnath Temple and Vice President of Chardham Mahapanchayat Santosh Trivedi made allegations in June 2023
  • The priest charged RSS nominee Ajay Ajendra, who headed the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), of misappropriating gold from the sanctum sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple

6. Tamil Nadu Temple Land grabbing

Tamil Nadu BJP Leader Nainar Balaji is accused of grabbing the land worth worth 100+ crore beloging to the temple in Vadapalani[14]

  • He colluded with the land mafia and officers from the Deeds and Revenue Department in facilitating the fraudulent mutation of the land belonging to the Vadapalani temple at Virugambakkam area of Chennai on April 12, 2023[14:1]
  • A land parcel measuring over 1 acre, belonging to Vadapalani temple is worth 100 crore[15]
