Security Guards: Will instill sense of security & discipline for students and allow teachers to focus on teaching

Night Watchmen: Will keep a check on regular incidents of theft of computers, rations and gas cylinders from government schools

Security guards[1]

1,265 security guards through PESCO for 689 high and senior secondary schools[2]

  • Deployed at the entry and exit of the schools
  • They will ensure that no student can leave the premises during school time without the permission of the principal
  • Maintaining records of visitors
  • Security guards would also manage traffic outside the school to facilitate students during entry and exit at schools

Night Watchmen Scheme[3]

1,734 chowkidar-cum-watchman for night duty were recruited for government senior secondary schools[2:1]

  • School management committees would select the chowkidar/watchman
  • These watchmen will be paid a monthly salary of Rs 5,000 each
  • One should preferably be a local resident in the age group of 32 to 60
