The school operates like a physical school with classes from 8.30am to 11.30am
Each class has around 30 students
School admits students between classes 9 to 12
DMVS is a part of the Schools of Specialised Excellence
Affiliated to the Delhi Board of School Education, the school follows the International Baccalaureate programme
It offers a range of career oriented skill courses as well as free-of-cost support for preparation for JEE, NEET, CUET and other competitive exams

Dec 2023: There are 290 studying in total at present, all selected through a proctored online entrance exam

-- Class 10: 31 (1st batch to appear for Board exam)

The 1st batch of Class X students will appear for the board exams in 2024
DVMS is boon for Students who are completely immobile or those who work part time to augment family incomes or kids who are pursuing other interests such as sports or culture
The students use WhatsApp to coordinate meetings, organise functions and work on projects

The teachers have been trained on digital tools and tailored the curriculum

¶ Preparation before Launch^[5]

Budget 2021-22: The concept of virtual school was proposed by the Delhi Government
The Chief Deputy Minister, Manish Sisodia constituted a six-member committee comprising of school principals, teachers and IT managers to study global best practices and models of virtual schools in the United States and New Zealand and submit a plan for the Delhi Virtual School
