EXISTING: Till Jul2022[2]:
Punjab has only 12 medical colleges
-- 4 government, 6 privates, 1 PPP mode and 1 Centre-run
-- Total only 1,750 MBBS seats (800 government & 950 private)
¶ 1. Kapurthala: Shri Guru Nanak Dev State Institute of Medical Sciences[3]
- Will be built on a 20-acre site
- With 100 MBBS seats
¶ 2. Hoshiarpur: Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences[4]
- 100 MBBS seats are being established
- College will also prove to be a boon for many districts of Himachal Pradesh
- Build with an amount of 460cr on 23 acer of land
- Have Earthquake resistant building
¶ 3. Sangrur: Sant Attar Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences[4:1]
- 100 MBBS seats will be established
¶ 4. Malerkotla: Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan Government Medical College[4:2]
- It is a minority medical College
- 100 seats for MBBS will be established
¶ 5. Moga[5]
