-- Establish Tertiary Care Super Specialist Hospitals
-- Make Punjab a hub of Medical education & services

EXISTING: Till Jul2022[1]:

Punjab has only 12 medical colleges
-- 4 government, 6 privates, 1 PPP mode and 1 Centre-run
-- Total only 1,750 MBBS seats (800 government & 950 private)

1. Kapurthala: Shri Guru Nanak Dev State Institute of Medical Sciences[2]

  • Will be built on a 20-acre site
  • With 100 MBBS seats

2. Hoshiarpur: Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences[3]

  • 100 MBBS seats are being established
  • College will also prove to be a boon for many districts of Himachal Pradesh
  • Build with an amount of 460cr on 23 acer of land
  • Have Earthquake resistant building

3. Sangrur: Sant Attar Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences[3:1]

  • 100 MBBS seats will be established

4. Malerkotla: Nawab Sher Mohammad Khan Government Medical College[3:2]

  • It is a minority medical College
  • 100 seats for MBBS will be established

5. Nawanshahr: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government Medical College at Barnala Kalan village[4]

  • college will have 50 MBBS seats
  • cost of Rs 300 crore
