Punjabs Sports Code outlines guidelines & regulations governing the administration and development of sports in the state of Punjab

The new Sports Code will free Sports from Politicians and their relatives' intervention

Only players with a National/International achievements in sports will be eligible for leadership roles^[1]

• This code will put to an end to favouritism in sports associations^[1:1]
• Only individuals with a national, international achievements in sports will be eligible for leadership roles in sports associations^[1:2]
• Age limit for leadership roles and membership established
• The code strives for community engagement, social cohesion and inclusivity by providing opputunities to all
• The code aims at the Promotion of sports in Punjab and regain its leading position of being a sports State in the country^[2]
• The code will greatly improve the management of sports in the state

• Punjab Govt has framed a sports code to ensure smooth organisation of sports bodies^[3]
• The code was carefully drafted after getting suggestions from experts and suggestions invited from general public for effective implementation^[3:1]
• This code is a crucial step in providing maximum facilities to athletes and supporting merit^[1:3]
• The code brings a paradigm shift in the selection of sports association office bearers
