- Punjab has procured 92 lakh metric tons of coal from Pachwara, transported through 2,400 rakes till Nov 2024[2:1]
- First coal railway rake arrived on 15 Dec 2022
- Pachhwara coal mine was allotted to Punjab Govt(PSPCL) on March 31, 2015
- For 8 years, it was stuck in legal & operational tangle till AAP govt got it functioning in Dec 2022
- Ends dependence on the limited supply of coal from Coal India & imported coal
