After 8 years, Punjab govt gets coal from its own mine in Pachwara, Jharkhand[1]

- Cost is Rs. 11 crore per 1 lakh metric ton cheaper than that of Coal India Limited[2:1]
- Punjab has procured 93.87 lakh metric tons of coal from Pachwara, transported[2:2]
- April 1, 2024, 50.84 lakh metric tons of coal delivered through 1277 rakes, i.e. resulted in savings of Rs. 593 crore[2:3]
- First coal railway rake arrived on 15 Dec 2022
- Pachhwara coal mine was allotted to Punjab Govt(PSPCL) on March 31, 2015
- For 8 years, it was stuck in legal & operational tangle till AAP govt got it functioning in Dec 2022
