1. 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Nov 2025)

Special Assembly session & Holy Cities

24 Nov 2025: In a first, a special sitting of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha was held outside Chandigarh, at Sri Anandpur Sahib (Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial), on the 350th Shaheedi Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji[6][1:1]
-- House unanimously adopted a resolution paying homage to the Guru's supreme sacrifice[7]
-- Same sitting accorded Holy City status to the towns of the three Takhts in Punjab (Amritsar Walled City, Talwandi Sabo, Sri Anandpur Sahib)[8]

  • Session began after a Nagar Kirtan reached Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib; ministers and MLAs stayed with the sangat as sevadars in a temporary Assembly venue built for the session[9]

Holy Cities

Government notified Amritsar, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Talwandi Sabo (seats of the three Takhts in Punjab) as Holy Cities on 21 Dec 2025[2:1]

  • Sale of meat, alcohol, tobacco and intoxicants to be prohibited in these cities[2:2]
  • E-rickshaws, mini-buses and other public transport promised for pilgrims[2:3]

  • ₹20 crore to relay internal and approach roads, with reflector lights and premix carpeting[11]

  • "White City" project started 12 Nov 2025, with 20,000+ litres of paint donated by the public[12]

  • Srinagar route (544 km): Jammu, Pathankot, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, Garhshankar; halts at Jammu, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur[22:1]
  • Majha-Doaba route (345 km): Gurdaspur, Batala, Baba Bakala, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Kapurthala, Kartarpur, Jalandhar, Banga, Balachaur[22:2]
  • Malwa-1 route (320 km): Faridkot, Ferozepur, Moga, Jagraon, Ludhiana, Khanna, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Morinda, Chamkaur Sahib, Rupnagar[22:3]
  • Malwa-2 route (354 km): Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Rajpura, Banur, Mohali, Kurali, Rupnagar[22:4]
  • Ferozepur welcomed the Malwa-1 Nagar Kirtan with Punjab Police salute and school bands[23]

₹71 crore to 142 villages and towns visited by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Malwa, Doaba and Majha), cheques handed to sarpanches and councillors on 20 Nov 2025 -- about ₹50 lakh each[29][30]
-- For basic infrastructure, devotee amenities, beautification of roads leading to the sacred sites and other development works[29:1]

Good to know: The government pledged in Aug 2025 that every village and city touched by the Guru would be developed; grants are paid into panchayat accounts and sarpanches are responsible for spending[31][30:1]

3. 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji (Feb 2027)

Year-long statewide programme[32][33]

  • Documentary screened in 13,000+ villages through mobile LED vans[33:1]
  • Foundation of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Bani Adhyayan Centre (10.4 acres, ₹37 cr) at Dera Sachkhand Ballan, Jalandhar, on 9 Aug 2026[34]
  • 1.5 crore saplings in 2026-27 (6.5 lakh in each district)[20:1]

4. Hamare Ram and Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv De Naam programs

"Hamare Ram" (Aug–Sep 2026)

  • 41 free performances in 12 cities (Mohali, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Patiala, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Khanna), led by Ashutosh Rana; inaugurated in Mohali on 7 Aug 2026[42]
  • Ferozepur staged two shows on 30 Aug 2026 with a 150-member troupe[43]

"Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv De Naam"

  • Devotional evenings with singer Hansraj Raghuwanshi, scheduled at Amritsar (27 Jun 2026), Gurdaspur (28 Jun) and Batala (29 Jun), with Kejriwal and CM Mann to attend[44]

5. Heritage places & martyrs' hometowns

Sunam (Shaheed Udham Singh)

  • Projects worth ₹107 crore dedicated on 31 Jul 2026, including a Trauma Centre, Medicines Warehouse, Blood Bank and an Armed Forces Preparatory Institute[4:1]
  • Foundation laid on 31 Jul 2025 for ~₹85 cr of works: tehsil complex, bus stand, girls' school, indoor sports complex, college upgrade; Sunam-Patiala highway renamed Shaheed Udham Singh Highway[45]

Khatkar Kalan (Shaheed Bhagat Singh)

  • Heritage Complex of ₹51.70 crore, foundation laid 28 Jul 2025, to be completed in nine months[3:1]
  • 350 m Heritage Street from the museum to the ancestral house, 30 m national flag, 700-seat auditorium, restored ancestral home and digitised library[3:2]

Sultanpur Lodhi

  • 23 urban development projects worth ₹240 crore under way[46]
