For 1st time, Punjab government schools started nursery classes from 2024-25; on par with private schools^[1]

Earlier parents had to enroll children for nursery in private schools

• The age limit to get admitted into nursery class is 3 years
• The duration of the class for the nursery students would be 1 hour only
• In compliance with the National Education Policy (NEP)
• A budgetery allocation of 10 crores made for the purpose by the Government of Punjab
• Ludhiana leading with the highest number of admissions in the state
