NRI Milnis, 'Punjab Help Center' at Delhi Airport and dedicated Officers for online services for hassle free experience

1. NRI Milnis[1]

On the spot redressal: NRI Minister himself meets directly with complainants, in presense of local Civil & Police Officers

Feb 2024: Offline Meet[4]

256 out of 309 complaints were resolved as of Feb 2024[3:2]

  • Chief Minister himself led the milnis this time
  • NRI meet organised on 3 February in Pathankot, 9 February in Nawanshahr, 27 February in Ferozepur and 29 February in Sangrur
  • The NRIs could register their complaints on the department’s website – nri.punjab.gov.in – or WhatsApp number 9056009884 from January 11-30[5]

December 2022: Offline Meet[6]

Highly Successful: 597 out of 605 total complaints were effectively resolved and remaining 8 were pending due to cases in the courts

  • 5 meetings help in 2022 with NRIs
  • Starting from Jalandhar on 16 December, SAS Nagar (Mohali) on December 19, Ludhiana on December 23, Moga on December 26 followed by Amritsar on December 30

2. 'Punjab Help Centre' at Delhi Airport[5:1]

"Facilitation Center" at the Arrival Hall of International Terminal, inaugurated on 8th Aug 2024

  • This center will be manned 24x7 for all the NRIs and other passengers
  • Helpline number 011-61232182 for any sort of assistance
  • 2 Innova cars at its disposal for helping passengers with local movement to Punjab Bhawan and to other nearby places
  • In case of any emergency, a few rooms, depending upon the availability, will be provided in Punjab Bhawan

3. Online Complaints[7]

PCS level officers have been appointed as nodal officers to resolve the grievances of NRI Punjabis in various districts

  • NRIs police wing have been receiving abundance online complaints and all these have been solved in a time-bound manner at 15 NRI police stations, district and state level
  • They work to resolve problems and complaints with the assistance of the district administration

4. New NRI website[1:1]

Dec 29, 2023: New website nri.punjab.gov.in of the NRI affairs department

This website will act as a catalyst in resolving the issues faced by the NRI brethren thereby facilitating them in a big way

  • Help the NRIs to get their documents attested
  • Centralised online complaint portal of Punjab viz www.connect.punjab.gov.in wherein NRIs and other people can register their complaint linked
  • Detailed information regarding the registered travel agents/ agencies with Punjab government and Ministry of External Affairs
  • Provides helpline number, email addresses and WhatsApp complaint number
